Massage can be a highly effective therapy for stress reduction and healing injuries. Massage moves interstitial fluids in the body, bringing oxygen for cell repair and creating energy. It also moves toxins through the lymphatic system, creating space for new fluids to filter through. There are some tasks the body can only accomplish when it is in a parasympathetic state (rest and repair mode). One of them is rebuilding white blood cells which aid in strengthening the immune system. Massage has also been proven to increase levels of serotonin in the brain and decrease levels of cortisol.
Massage techniques can be altered to cater to the individual needs of the client. I blend techniques of Swedish, deep tissue, sports, stretching, injury treatment, and Lomi Lomi.
I also offer lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage, and Lomi Lomi Hawaiian style massage.
